Pedestrian accident leaves woman with life-threatening injuries

On Behalf of | Apr 10, 2019 | Firm News, pedestrian accidents

Walking along roadways, crossing streets and generally being on foot near traffic can present many dangers. Unfortunately, even if an individual abides by the law and tries to be as careful as possible, he or she could still end up in a pedestrian accident. These accidents typically end in serious injuries due to the lack of protection pedestrians have.

It was recently reported that this type of incident occurred in New Haven. Apparently, a 25-year-old woman was crossing a street near a visitors center when she was hit by a vehicle. It was noted that the vehicle was a commercial delivery truck. Further details on how the accident happened were not provided. However, the accident was still under investigation at the time of the report.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries, including internal injuries and numerous broken bones, as a result of the incident. She was considered to be in critical condition. Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to an area hospital. More information regarding the woman’s condition and the accident itself may be released at a later time.

Being the victim of a pedestrian accident will undoubtedly cause many issues for this woman. At this time, her life is on the line, and she will likely have a long recovery ahead of her. She may find it useful to consider her legal options when able in order to determine whether filing a claim against the driver considered at fault and other liable parties could suit her situation. A successful personal injury claim could allow her to obtain compensation for allowable damages stemming from his New Haven accident.
