Driver at fault in motorcycle crash charged

On Behalf of | Mar 27, 2019 | Firm News, motorcycle accidents

Spring has officially sprung, and across Connecticut, motorcycle enthusiasts are dusting off their gear and gearing up for a ride. Other drivers know that extra caution must be used when sharing the road with motorcycles, because they are smaller and may be harder to see than other larger kinds of vehicles. Riders can suffer serious injury or death in a motorcycle crash, even if a rider is wearing a helmet and driving safely themselves.

Recently, a man found himself facing serious charges after he was the cause of a Connecticut motorcycle crash. According to reports, he was driving in a negligent manner and following another vehicle, a motorcycle, too closely. As he drove through an intersection, he caused a crash that killed the man on the motorcycle.

Now facing charges including homicide, the man is scheduled to appear in court in the coming weeks. Though the law will ensure that justice is served from a criminal standpoint, this may do little to ease the burden the victim’s family may be facing. Families who have suffered similar loss may be looking for options.

When a motorcycle crash kills an innocent victim, it often falls upon the deceased’s estate to cover financial matters like burial costs, medical care and insurance matters. A motorcycle crash can be expensive, and a victim’s family has the option to contact an experienced attorney. An attorney can help the executors of a victim’s estate collect damages and compensation on the victim’s behalf in a court of law.
