Sadly, two people have lost their lives in a Connecticut car crash. The fatal auto accident occurred during the late-night hours on a recent Monday. Sometimes, these types of car accidents happen due to a driver’s carelessness, in which case, the negligent driver may be held financially responsible for any injuries or deaths resulting from the car accident.
The recent accident occurred at a little past 10 p.m. along an avenue near a town line. It involved two cars. Authorities said they had to pull two men from one car’s wreckage following the crash. Unfortunately, they were both pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
The second car had only one occupant at the time of the collision. This individual suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. Police continued to investigate the cause of the motor vehicle collision.
If the injured party is found to have caused the fatal auto accident in Connecticut, the surviving loved ones of the two men who died in the crash may decide to file wrongful death claims against him or her, seeking damages. Meanwhile, if the deceased driver is determined to have caused the crash, the injury victim has the option of filing a personal injury claim against his estate and against anyone else with an ownership interest in the car he was operating. Before a judge will determine claims for monetary damages, liability has to be established before the court, based upon a demonstration of negligence. Damages in a victoriously fought suit may help with addressing burial expenses, hospital costs and other losses resulting from these types of car accidents.
