Woman dies in Connecticut fatal auto accident

On Behalf of | Dec 14, 2017 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents, Firm News

A recent tragedy on a local road has led to the death of one individual. The early morning incident turned into a fatal auto accident after the driver of one of the vehicles involved lost her life. The Connecticut roadway was briefly closed as authorities investigated the incident.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, officials received reports of an accident on a local road in Chaplin. One person was entrapped in a vehicle, and two other cars were involved in the collision. The initial reports said that the trapped driver, a woman, faced potentially life-threatening injuries. She was removed from the car and taken to the local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

No other injuries were immediately reported, even though at least two other cars were involved. Police are still conducting their investigation of the accident. The roadway was reopened, allowing other travelers to make their way through the area.

Not much information is currently publicly available regarding the fatal auto accident. Any loss of life is certainly tragic, and the pain will reverberate throughout the community. Surviving family members will likely start to question the details of the incident to find who was responsible and to see if the tragedy could have been prevented. If the accident is determined to be the result of someone’s negligence, the family of the deceased may wish to bring the case to a Connecticut civil court to pursue recovery of monetary damages based upon proof of negligence. An experienced personal injury attorney can offer guidance for families in cases such as these.
