Truck accident in Connecticut severely injures 1

On Behalf of | Mar 21, 2016 | Firm News, Truck Accidents

A collision between a car and a semi-trailer in Connecticut has left one individual in critical condition. This truck accident is said to have occurred in the early morning hours of March 17, in the northwest portion of the state. The cause of this crash is unknown.

It was recently reported, that a collision in Torrington resulted in one individual suffering severe injuries. For unknown reasons, a car and a tractor trailer collided near the intersection of two local roadways. According to a video report, this incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. The driver of the car was transported to a local medical facility. His or her current condition has not been reported.

The truck driver was uninjured in the incident. At this time, authorities have not released a statement regarding the official cause of the crash. The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.

When it comes to accidents involving semis and passenger vehicles, those in passenger vehicles are at a disadvantage. The sheer size and weight of these commercial trucks often serve to protect their drivers, while posing significant risk to others with whom they share the road. In this case, the driver of the car will likely face a long, uphill road to recovery which will likely be financially straining, emotionally draining and physically demanding. If it is believed that the truck driver was negligent in the cause of this truck accident, the victim may pursue legal claims against this individual and his or her employer. If claims of negligence can be successfully proved, a Connecticut civil court may grant a monetary judgment.
