Connecticut car accidents: Bus hits a car then a tree, 3 injured

On Behalf of | Dec 4, 2015 | Car Accidents, Firm News

Three people in Connecticut were recently injured when a bus hit a car and then a tree in the Hartford area. Due to the size and weight of most public transportation vehicles, car accidents that involve these types of automobiles can have some pretty severe outcomes. This seems to be the case for this particular incident.

Few details have been released regarding this accident. What is known is that the bus collided with the back end of a car before hitting a tree and coming to a stop. It is unknown if any passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash. According to a local report, at least two of the three people who were injured sustained serious injuries. Their current conditions have not been reported.

The bus driver was one of the individuals who was injured in the event. Law enforcement officials have not stated whether any charges are to be filed against this individual. An official cause of the collision has not been released.

Those who have been injured in car accidents with public transit vehicles are likely to have sustained significant economic and non-economic damages and may have legal recourse. In this case, the victims may file personal injury claims against the bus driver and Connecticut Transit. If negligence can be established and these claims litigated successfully, the victims may be awarded monetary judgments as compensation for the many different losses they may have experienced. These losses may include medical expenses, rehabilitation and recovery costs, lost wages, and emotional and physical pain and suffering.
