A fatal car accident in Connecticut has left one woman dead and a man injured. The car left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a stop on its side. The man was the driver of the vehicle and was flown via helicopter to a state hospital. The woman, who was the passenger, died at the scene. Both occupants of the vehicle are believed to be in their 30s.
A woman who lived at a nearby property heard the screeching noise of the accident. She immediately woke her husband and prompted him to call emergency technicians to the scene. The woman reported that there is a lot of traffic on this particular road and accidents are a frequent occurrence, though they are normally not as serious. The couple was unaware of just how serious this particular accident was or the extent of the injuries received by the driver and passenger.
The road was closed for roughly five hours as authorities investigated the scene of the accident.
Other neighbors and residents of the road also made complaints about excessive speeding, especially around rush hour. Not following the established speed limits creates unsafe driving conditions for others on the roadway.
Driver negligence is often the cause of many serious accidents that leave others seriously injured or dead. In these accidents, the victim or their family members could be eligible for compensation. For anyone who has additional questions or concerns, speaking to an experienced attorney might be beneficial.
