Man suffers multiple fractures in Connecticut pedestrian accident

On Behalf of | Feb 19, 2014 | Auto-Pedestrian Accidents, Firm News

When pedestrians walk along busy roadways in Connecticut, they may be putting their lives on the line. Serious pedestrian accidents have been known to occur at almost anytime. Because pedestrians have no protection, resulting injuries can be serious and even fatal. Sadly, in some instances, the driver just continues on without stopping after knocking down somebody in a pedestrian accident.

This was the fate of a 28-year-old man who was walking along a Bloomfield road on a recent Thursday evening . A vehicle unexpectedly smashed into him and sped away without stopping. Police suspect that the accident might have caused damage to the windshield and the front hood of the vehicle. As their search for the hit-and-run driver continues, police request that anybody with information related to the accident contact them.

The victim is said to have sustained multiple injuries to his right arm and left leg. Injuries suffered in this type of accident could have life-altering consequences. Apart from excessive medical costs, the victim may not be able to go back to work for a long period of time. This could cause financial hardship for the injured person and his family.

Victims of hit-and-run or any other pedestrian accidents may want to seek information and guidance pertaining to state laws along with the legal options available to them. They may retain the right to file a personal injury claim in a Connecticut court of law. After successful litigation, the court may grant compensation that could be used to handle the unexpected medical costs, loss of income and any other damages sustained as a consequence of an unfortunate pedestrian accident.
