2 Connecticut men killed in fatal accident

On Behalf of | Aug 11, 2017 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents, Firm News

Lives can change in an instant when tragedy strikes on the road. Two families are likely mourning today due to the aftermath of an unfortunate head-on collision. Two men, both drivers of their vehicles, were killed and others injured in the fatal accident in a Connecticut town. A recent news story gives more detail about the sad event.

The head-on collision affected two vehicles in Waterbury on Aug. 2. One man was driving a brand-new car and was apparently alone in his vehicle. The other car, an older vehicle, contained a driver, his two children and another passenger. Later, a roadside memorial was set up to honor those killed in the early-evening crash.

One of the children, a 10-year-old girl suffered injuries and was initially reported to be in serious condition. Her status was later changed to stable. The other daughter, an 18-year-old, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Another passenger was also injured. Few other details were released as authorities are unsure of the cause of the event and are still investigating the accident at this time.

Since the investigation has not yet been concluded, it is not clear whether one of the drivers was at fault due to negligence. The fatal accident will surely leave a legacy of grief for both families involved. In Connecticut, victims of another driver’s negligence have the right to file a claim for wrongful death in a civil court. Experienced personal injury attorneys are available to assist families seeking justice for their loved ones.
