Connecticut hit and run accidents: Victim of crash has died

On Behalf of | May 23, 2016 | Car Accidents, Firm News

The victim of a hit and run crash in Connecticut has died. This incident reportedly occurred May 20, in Barkhamsted. Sadly, when it comes to hit and run accidents, this is a common outcome.

It was recently reported that a 23-year-old male was hit while riding his dirt bike on Route 44. The victim suffered critical injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, this individual succumbed to his injuries a day after the accident occurred.

The driver believed responsible for the crash is said to have fled the scene. Police believe that the driver of a gray truck attempted a left-hand turn and struck the victim. A description of the vehicle has been released to the public, and authorities are asking anyone with information about this incident to please come forward.

It is only a matter of time before the driver thought responsible for this tragic accident is located. When found, according to the state of Connecticut, the victim’s surviving family members may have legal recourse. When fatal hit and run accidents occur, the damages sustained by surviving family members can be emotionally and financially devastating. By taking legal actions against the individuals deemed responsible for such incidents, compensation can possibly be awarded if litigation is successful. While this will not replace the lives that are senselessly taken in these kinds of accidents, the victims’ loved ones may also be able to achieve a sense of justice which can help them as they strive to move forward.
