Head-on collision in Connecticut injures 2

On Behalf of | Apr 28, 2016 | Car Accidents, Firm News

Two people were recently injured in a crash on Interstate 95 in Connecticut. A wrong-way driver is believed to have caused the head-on collision. Both drivers were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

In the early morning hours of April 16, a two-car collision occurred in the northbound lanes of I-95 in Milford. According to reports, the vehicle of a man who was driving in the wrong direction collided with another car. The drivers — both males — were trapped in their automobiles until rescue teams arrived. The Jaws of Life were used to free one of the men who was found unconscious, having suffered life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment; their current conditions have not been reported.

Connecticut State Police are in the process of investigating this incident. At this time, authorities have not indicated what factors may have have contributed to this wreck. As of the latest report, no charges have been filed in this case.

It is not uncommon for a head-on collision to result in serious or even fatal injuries, as those involved in such incidents are often given little, if any time, to react to the situations. In this particular case, the victim or his loved ones may be entitled to pursue civil claims in an effort to seek compensation for any losses sustained. Personal injury or any other available legal claims that are filed and litigated in a Connecticut civil court could result in fair and full compensation being awarded if negligence can be successfully established against the individual thought responsible for the wreck.
