Connecticut man hurt in intersection crash

On Behalf of | Apr 5, 2016 | Car Accidents, Firm News

A crash between a police SUV and another vehicle in Connecticut has resulted in one individual suffering critical injuries. This intersection crash occurred in the Bloomfield area on March 31. Authorities are still in the process of investigating this incident.

It has been reported that a 25-year-old male was transported to a medical center following a serious car crash. He was initially listed in critical condition, though his status was changed to fair condition the following day. The details of his injuries have not been released.

This collision occurred at about 8:30 p.m. while the police officer involved was responding to a pedestrian accident. According to reports, the officer is said to have had both lights and sirens activated before heading through the intersection. While those driving emergency vehicles are permitted to proceed past red lights or stop signs if lights and sirens are on, they are required to slow down and proceed with caution. It is unknown if that occurred in this particular case.

The damage done to the victim and his vehicle as a result of this intersection crash is pretty significant. As of right now, it is uncertain as to how the injuries he has suffered will affect his home and work life, both now and in the future. If the officer is found to have been negligent in her actions, the victim may be entitled to compensation for his losses. If a personal injury claim is managed successfully, a Connecticut civil court may award the victim a monetary judgment for any and all recoverable damages.
