Person of interest interviewed in Connecticut pedestrian accident

On Behalf of | Oct 15, 2018 | Firm News, pedestrian accidents

Most drivers in Connecticut have likely made a mistake while driving. While mistakes are typically relatively innocuous, in some cases they can have fatal consequences. Following such an incident, drivers are required to remain at the scene. However, police in Connecticut are investigating a recent hit-and-run pedestrian accident.

Connecticut State Police say the accident happened at approximately 7 p.m. on an day in early October. A driver reportedly allowed the vehicle he or she was driving to run out of the road, striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital but later passed away as a result of injuries suffered in the collision.

Family members report that the victim’s boyfriend was with her at the time at the accident; he was not injured. It is believed that the vehicle involved in the accident is a dark-colored sports utility vehicle that has damage on the passenger side, including a missing mirror. Police say that they have recently interviewed a person of interest.

With the resources that police in Connecticut and across the country have access to, it is likely that the identity of a driver involved in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident will be discovered. Unfortunately, a family is now likely facing a great deal of turmoil after the unexpected, preventable loss of their loved one. Once the responsible party has been identified, surviving family members may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit; if successfully presented, they could receive a monetary award that will help them cope with the financial consequences of their loss.
