A community is mourning the loss of one young man because of a recent tragic event. The man was killed as he walked along a street in Connecticut due to a pedestrian accident involving multiple vehicles. His friends and community remember him as a bright young man who was set to succeed in his life.
The man, an immigrant, was nearing his graduation date. He had worked hard to achieve a master’s degree in electrical engineering and was due to graduate from the program at the University of Bridgeport in December. Unfortunately, he became a victim in the Dec. 5 multi-vehicle accident instead.
As friends struggled with grief, the university’s president sent an email informing the students that they had lost a classmate. One friend said that making the phone calls to his other friends was incredibly tough. The community remembered his as quiet, polite and a good student. The university has made grief counselors available to any students who may need some help processing the death.
Tragedies such as these represent a loss that extends beyond family and friends to the whole community. A person who otherwise would have been a valuable contributor to society is now lost. It is possible the Connecticut pedestrian accident could have been prevented somehow. Perhaps a negligent driver is to blame for the tragic loss of life. A person who has been a victim of a negligent driver, or who is a family member of someone who has been killed, may wish to consult with a lawyer to see what can be done to recover any losses.
