Connecticut woman dies in pedestrian accident

An unfortunate event has sadly ended the life of one person. A woman was struck by a vehicle near a grocery store in Connecticut. Few details are available on this developing story, but a recent news story gives some information on the pedestrian accident

The woman was struck in the area of a Stop & Shop grocery store. She was struck by a man driving a domestic SUV around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2. Police responded after reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle that was traveling north, and they found the woman lying in the middle lane of the roadway when they arrived.

Reports described the victim, later identified as an 87-year-old woman, as having injuries to her legs, midsection and head. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was cooperative with police investigation. Authorities are still looking into the full details of the incident. 

The woman’s life was sadly cut short by this tragic event. Certainly, a family is grieving the loss of a beloved family member. If the accident was in some way caused by preventable negligence, then the tragedy is compounded. Her family may be contemplating how to pay for medical and funeral costs for this victim of the Connecticut pedestrian accident.
