Police say that a man was killed in an accident on Route 34 in Orange on June 16. According to law enforcement, the man was driving his car southbound on Dogburn Avenue when he was struck by a van going west on Derby Avenue at about 8 a.m.
A Bridgeport auto accident involving a minivan and a pickup truck injured a pedestrian, according to reports. The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. June 19 at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Barnum Avenue. According to reports, a Ford pickup being driven by a 73-year-old Florida man and a Nissan minivan being driven by a 68-year-old Bridgeport man collided at the intersection. The impact forced the minivan to leave the road, cross over an adjacent sidewalk and strike a building.
A 31-year-old Connecticut motorcyclist has been injured in a recent accident in New Milford. The intersection crash took place at the corner of Hine Hill Road and Grove Street at 10:34 on June 15. The other driver involved has since been cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Police closed down Grove between Hine Hill Road and Fordyce Road for just over an hour in the aftermath of the accident.
More than two dozen people went to the hospital on June 10 following a five-vehicle crash that included two school buses. The accident happened around 4 p.m. on Winsted Road in Torrington after a pickup truck that witnesses said was speeding crashed into a Jeep. This resulted in a chain reaction in which the Jeep hit a bus and that bus hit another bus and a car. The road was closed for more than five hours for the investigation and cleanup, reopening around 9:30 p.m.
Officers from the Newington Police Department say that three people were injured when they were struck by a teal pickup truck on June 3. The incident occurred at Christian Lane at approximately 1:15 p.m. According to sources, the driver attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by a white van.
Around 1:15 p.m. on June 3, three people from New Britain were crossing Christian Lane in Newington when a pickup truck ran into them. According to witnesses at the scene, the truck came out of nowhere, struck the young boy and two women, dragged them approximately 50 feet, and then just continued to drive away without ever braking.
A May 31 accident that involved three vehicles, including a U.S. Postal Service truck, left six people with injuries, according to the East Hampton Police Department. Police said the incident took place near the intersection of Route 196 and Carriage Drive.
Authorities report that a three-car accident in Plainfield in the morning of May 30 left five individuals with injuries. All of the people involved in the auto accident were taken to a hospital for treatment. According to the Plainfield Police Department, the drivers and passengers were still inside of their vehicles cars when the police, fire department, American Legion Ambulance and Killingly Ambulance responders arrived at the scene.
