Fatal motorcycle accident two days before victim’s 30th birthday

On Behalf of | Jul 26, 2012 | Car Accidents, Firm News

An auto accident is no doubt a tragic event no matter what the result. The mere shock of being involved in an accident can severely impact one’s life for days, months and years. When a car accident causes serious injury, pain and suffering or a fatality, the impact on those affected is infinitely more severe. In Norwalk, Connecticut, such an unfortunate fatal accident recently occurred.

Only two days prior to her 30th birthday, a woman rode her motorcycle with friends on I-95 South. At about 3:40 am on July 15, the group was in the process of pulling over to the shoulder because one of the riders had a flat tire. As the woman pulled over to the right shoulder, she was hit by a Ford Taurus. The impact caused her to be thrown from her seat. She landed on the road as a result of the collision. A second car crashed into her bike after she was ejected.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. As a result of the accident, the road was closed for hours while rescuers attended to those involved and police investigated the scene. Drivers had to be rerouted to avoid the highway.

The crash is still under investigation. However, any negligent driving involved may result in a civil suit. Any individual injured in an accident may be entitled to compensation. The ability to recover for injuries and medical expenses is not terminated when the injured party passes. A victim’s loved ones may bring a suit on the victim’s behalf.
