Elisabeth M. Swanson
Liz has concentrated her efforts on representing injured people for virtually her entire legal career. She advocates for the victims of automobile collisions, defective premises, medical errors, and wrongful physical or sexual assaults. Liz has a strong sense of justice, a deep compassion for her clients, and a commitment to excellence. This is demonstrated by her creative, energetic, and diligent work on behalf of her clients. She has tried numerous cases to verdict, and resolved many more through arbitrations and mediations.
A lifelong resident of Connecticut, with roots in the northern part of the state, Liz obtained a degree in English from the University of Connecticut, magna cum laude, and received her law degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. During law school, she served as Notes and Comments editor for the Connecticut Law Review, and as a teaching assistant for Legal Profession. She received multiple CALI Awards for Excellence.
Before beginning her legal career, Liz worked for several years as a press secretary at the Connecticut General Assembly. She is active in numerous legal organizations and presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hartford County Bar Association and with the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association's Women's Caucus. She is an active member of the Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court and the Connecticut Bar Association.
Outside of work, Liz stays busy raising four children with her husband, David. She also enjoys reading, writing, running, wood-splitting, baking and anything involving the outdoors.
