Pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle in Connecticut dies

Auto-pedestrian accidents are far from rare occurrences these days. Recently, a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle in Connecticut died from his injuries. Investigators say that the driver failed to stop after hitting the man.

It was recently reported that an elderly gentleman was struck while standing next to his car in a residential neighborhood. The 81-year-old was in the area visiting his older sister when the crash occurred. According to reports, at approximately 9 p.m., the victim was hit by a white SUV near Madison Terrace and Arlington Street in Bridgeport. Sadly, he died at the scene of the accident.

Authorities are currently looking for the driver responsible for this incident. A description of the vehicle has been released to the public. Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this event to come forward.

It is not uncommon for a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle to succumb to his or her injuries. When auto-pedestrian accidents result in fatalities, surviving family members can be left emotionally and financially devastated. It certainly does not help matters if the drivers responsible for such incidents fail to stop. Hopefully, Connecticut police can find the driver involved in this particular case; once that is accomplished, the victim's surviving family members may then be entitled to pursue legal actions in civil court in an effort to seek compensation for their losses. Through successful litigation, damages for any and all economic and non-economic losses that are deemed recoverable in accordance with applicable state laws may be achieved.
