1 killed and 1 injured in Connecticut fatal accident

A serious car crash in Connecticut has claimed one life and has left another individual injured. This fatal accident recently occurred in the Shelton area. Any witnesses to the crash are being asked to please come forward.

This particular accident occurred in front of the Sports Center of Connecticut on Murphy's Lane and Long Hill Avenue. Two vehicles, driven by women ages 69 and 23, collided head-on. Both drivers were transported to an area hospital. Sadly, the older woman died shortly after arriving at the medical center. The younger driver is said to have suffered serious injuries, though they are not believed to be life-threatening.

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of this crash. An accident reconstruction team was on-site for several hours to investigate the incident. It is unknown if any charges will be filed against the driver that survived the crash.

Sadly, far too many car accidents result in serious injury -- or worse. While the details of this fatal accident are still being sorted out, when the victim is identified, the surviving woman or the family members of the deceased may have legal recourse. Compensation may be sought for any losses experienced -- such as medical expenses, funeral costs and any other documented damages. In order to seek relief, legal claims may be filed against the driver deemed responsible in a Connecticut civil court (if the deceased woman is considered to have been at fault, the claim would be filed against her estate). While taking such actions may be challenging, if successful, the final outcome could certainly help those negatively affected by this crash work to move forward.
