Intersection crash injures 5 in Connecticut

A total of five people were recently injured in an accident in Connecticut. The intersection crash reportedly occurred Feb. 26, in Canaan. At least two of the people hurt are said to have suffered serious injuries.

Police in Connecticut are currently investigating the cause of a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Route 7 and a local roadway. One of the drivers -- a 22-year-old male -- claims that he was driving southbound on Route 7 when the driver of the other vehicle -- a 29-year-old male -- allegedly drove through a stop sign and struck his car. The driver of the first car and his two passengers were injured in the wreck. Both passengers are said to have suffered serious injuries and were flown to a hospital for treatment, while the driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. A passenger in his vehicle is said to have been injured, but he refused medical treatment. Authorities still have not indicated which driver was at fault for the incident. At this time, it is unknown if any criminal charges are pending in this case.

The damages suffered in an intersection crash such as this one can be quite severe for the victims. Not only will they have to recover physically, but the emotional and financial losses can also be devastating. The victims of this accident may be able to seek compensation through legal means -- if desired. Personal injury claims may be filed in a Connecticut civil court in an effort to seek monetary relief for the many expenses likely incurred as a result of this wreck, and for any non-economic damages that are also deemed legally recoverable.
