1 killed and 1 injured in head-on collision in Connecticut

A Connecticut woman recently died after her vehicle was involved a crash in Milford. The head-on collision occurred the evening of Jan. 9. According to reports, the driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured in the wreck.

When rescue teams responded to the two-vehicle crash, they found both drivers still in their cars. One of the drivers had to be extricated from his or her vehicle. Both individuals were transported to a trauma center for treatment. One of the drivers, a female, died as a result of her injuries. The condition of the other individual involved in this wreck is unknown.

Very few details about this incident have been released. At this time, authorities have not indicated which driver is believed responsible for the crash. Accordingly, it is unknown if any charges are expected in this case.

A lot of investigative work still needs to occur in order to determine which driver is believed responsible for this head-on collision. Once completed, the surviving victim or family members of the deceased may be entitled to compensation for any damages sustained as a result of the wreck. Depending upon which party may have been at fault, a wrongful death or personal injury claim may be filed in a Connecticut civil court in an effort to recoup any recoverable losses. This was a terrible tragedy, one that has changed lives forever. While a legal claim cannot turn back time, bring back a loved one or heal all physical wounds, the resulting compensation from a successful litigation can help injured victims receive the care they need for the rest of their lives or help surviving family members focus on grieving rather than monetary concerns.
