1 dead in Connecticut auto-bicycle accident

A bicyclist was reportedly killed after being struck by a pickup truck in New Milford. At the time of the report, police had not filed charges against the 22-year-old man who was driving the truck. The man remained at the scene of the crash following the accident.

Motorcyclist dies in 3-car accident

Connecticut State Police say that a woman riding a motorcycle died in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 on Aug. 14. The crash happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes around exit 44 as the motorcycle traveled through West Hartford. Traffic in the area was congested for about three hours as a result of the fatal accident.

Pedestrian victim in Connecticut hit-and-run identified by police

A 32-year-old male pedestrian, walking near the front entrance of Canton High School, was hit by a car driven by a 26-year-old man on the night of Aug. 12. Canton police arrived at the scene at about 9:16 p.m., in the Collinsville section of town. They'd received an emergency call indicating that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was found on the ground when police arrived. The driver of the vehicle was not at the scene of the accident.

Connecticut woman facing criminal charges for pedestrian death

A Connecticut court case in connection with a March accident was continued until Aug. 28. At the center of the case was a 50-year-old woman who struck a teacher with her SUV in the parking lot of a middle school. The victim, a 65-year-old woman whose career in education spanned 30 years, died on March 28 as a result of head injuries she suffered in the pedestrian accident.

Driver sought in Connecticut hit-and-run accident

Bridgeport police were notified of an accident involving a white or light colored Acura Integra and a 22-year-old male pedestrian at the intersection of Park Avenue and Vine Street in the early morning hours of Aug. 9. Witnesses say that the driver of the car that was going northbound accelerated while approaching the intersection, hit the pedestrian and then took off after initially braking.

Connecticut woman faces criminal charge in pedestrian accident

A 50-year-old Connecticut woman faced a felony charge after a March accident in a middle school parking lot that left a 65-year-old woman dead. The pedestrian accident occurred when the woman, who was dropping off her child at the school, accidentally entered the bus lane at the Hebron school and then struck the victim, who taught at the school.

Man injured in Connecticut hit-and-run

A man riding a motorized scooter was injured in a hit-and-run in Bridgeport on July 31. The man's injuries were not life threatening, even though he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The driver of the scooter, who suffered a broken shoulder and was left unconscious at the scene of the accident, was asking the public to help him identify the driver who hit him.

Connecticut woman hit by car while getting her mail

On July 29, an auto-pedestrian accident occurred on Middle Road in Ellington when an 87-year-old woman was hit by a car while retrieving her mail. She was to Rockville General Hospital by ambulance and later transported by helicopter to Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. Authorities reported that she died from the injuries she suffered in the accident.
