A car accident can forever alter the lives of those involved. In the case of a fatal accident, the lives of loved ones are suddenly and drastically shaken. The abruptness in which a once full and joyful life can be taken away is shocking. A recent motor vehicle collision in Connecticut has not solely affected the victims' close family, but has left an entire community grieving.
A couple quite prominent in one Connecticut community was killed in an automobile accident late one Tuesday morning. The 77-year-old man and his wife had been serving and working in their community since the 1970s. It was reported that their impact on the town will be felt thoroughly, and they will be missed by all. Another man killed in the accident, a 45-year-old, had been on his way to the hospital.
The 45-year-old initiated the series of collisions when he crossed the median from the northbound lane and into the lanes going in the opposite direction, as he slumped over the steering wheel. His car slammed into that of the elderly couple's, sending their automobile into a box truck. The driver of the box truck was released after being treated for his injuries, but the other three people involved died after being taken to the hospital.
