Delayed case of driver who killed passenger in a one-car accident

Losing a loved one is a tragedy that no family wants to endure. It is even more difficult when parents lose a child far too young. To lose a child due to reckless behavior of another makes the loss that much more devastating. One family in Connecticut is still recovering after losing their son, who was a passenger in a one-car accident.

The boy who was killed was only 15 years old at the time of his tragic death. The driver, the accused, is just 20 years old. It was not immediately clear what the two were doing together or where they were headed when the accident occurred. The case against the driver of the car in that accident has been delayed another month. The driver has been free on bail for some time now; the accident took place back in early spring.

There are currently five charges listed against the accused, including misconduct with a motor vehicle, reckless driving and failing to use headlights, among other things. Authorities concluded that the driver of the car was at fault for causing the accident and therefore the death of the teenage passenger. Authorities did not list drugs, alcohol or cell phone usage as contributing factors.

Unfortunately, this teenage boy will not grow up and realize any of his young dreams. His family will never be quite the same again. A family in Connecticut who is affected by the death of a passenger in a one-car accident can pursue a case against the driver if it is proven that the driver was in fact negligent and reckless in their actions. They may pursue a wrongful death case to help cover funeral expenses and pain and suffering. It cannot fully compensate for losing a loved one, but it can help ease the grief.
