Unfortunately car accidents occur daily. When a negligent party is to blame, they could be forced to provide monetary compensation to the injured party. Recently, a passenger in a one-car accident in Connecticut was injured after the vehicle crossed a double yellow line.
Although the accident is still under investigation, at this time it appears after the vehicle crossed the double line, it crashed into another vehicle that was on the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then pushed the parked car into another before it was said to have mounted a brick wall before finally coming to rest. Both the driver and passenger were trapped and had to be removed by emergency personnel. While they received treatment at the scene, both were transported to nearby medical facilities for further medical treatment.
While a cause hasn't been released, it was noted that a warrant was obtained to take blood samples from the driver that will be chemically analyzed. The roadway had to be closed for a period of time as the cleanup and initial investigation took place. Details of the injuries were not immediately available.
When a passenger in a one-car accident is injured, they may have the right to take action against the driver. Connecticut residents that are facing this situation may wish to pursue their right to receive monetary compensation to help cover accident related expenses such as medical costs as well as potential lost wages. Expenses can quickly add up leaving the injured party in a financial bind. With the proper understanding of the applicable state laws, an individual can receive the compensation they are entitled to and focus on their recovery.
