Connecticut woman hospitalized after pedestrian accident

Most individuals are taught the importance of staying focused while operating a vehicle at a young age. Careless and distracted drivers can create danger to anyone in their vicinity. Unfortunately, there are numerous car accidents involving pedestrians on Connecticut highways. Serious injuries including head trauma and broken bones can be the result of a pedestrian accident. Drivers should always be vigilant of individuals in roadways near crosswalks, shopping centers and any other areas that could potentially be heavily congested with pedestrian traffic.

A recent accident in Plainfield resulted in a 61-year-old woman being hospitalized. The incident occurred when the woman was walking across a road toward an area where her vehicle was parked. A pickup truck reportedly slammed into the victim as she was attempting to cross the road.

The woman was transported to a local hospital after sustaining serious injuries from the crash. There was no report as to the condition of the 69-year-old male driver of the pickup. The investigation remains ongoing while authorities continue to gather evidence and search for more witnesses to the accident.

Even though the cause for this pedestrian accident hasn't been determined, the victim and her family could benefit from a diligent review of the facts and circumstances in conjunction with Connecticut state laws. A personal injury claim can be filed by a victim or victim's family in civil court anytime there is sufficient evidence suggesting that an injury resulted from the actions of a negligent or reckless driver. Monetary relief awarded from a successfully litigated lawsuit can help to cover rehabilitation costs, lost wages and all medical expenses incurred from an unfortunate accident.
